With that being said, I feel as if it would be wrong to deprive you guys - the fans - of the additional work I put into the mod in its own last days.
As the sole developer, I no longer have time to work on the mod and would rather focus on other projects, and to be honest I don't really have a whole lot of interest in Middle-earth these days. It is with a fair amount of sadness that I must announce that TLD Film Edition has officially halted development. Well, friends, it's been quite the journey for The Last Days: Film Edition, but, as old Bilbo Baggins once said, "I regret to announce that this is The End." Comment below and I'll reply as soon as I get a chance!
Also keep in mind that a lot of stuff hasn't been updated and thus retains its book-themed look from the original mod.Ī: Absolutely! I'd love to hear your input as well as any bug reports you have. The Hobbit trilogy is an exception as I really don't like a lot of the art direction in those movies, so some things from The Hobbit may be altered or entirely different (though they will still be based on pre-Hobbit sources, of course).
If the book and movie contradict each other, the movie takes precedence. Q: Why aren't X Y or Z from the movies/book in the mod, or why is X Y and Z different from the book/The Hobbit series?Ī: This version of TLD is based entirely on the movies (as well as some additional sources for things we don't see, such as the GamesWorkshop strategy game), unlike the original TLD mod. I do know that Overhaul is a great mod and highly recommend you check it out if this mod doesn't suit your tastes. Q: What's the difference between this and TLD Overhaul?Ī: I can't say for sure what the difference is as I haven't played much TLD Overhaul. That being said, TLD Film Edition is however still fully playable! The mod isn't constantly being worked on, so there is no chance of me giving a release date. Other factions, such as Imladris/Arnor are either unedited yet or partially finished. As of December 2018, Gondor, Harad, Khand, Rhun and the Orc/Black Numenorean factions are mostly complete.
